ABOUT ME

I’m an independent creative director who loves the craft and relishes the challenges of brand design. Over the past three-odd decades, I’ve created identities for scores of consumer, B2B and public sector brands across a wide range of industries – from theatres and museums to advertising agencies and airlines. I’ve even had the honors of branding the G8 Summit and designing sets of postage stamps for the UK’s Royal Mail.

Born in Africa and trained in Belgium before working in the UK and Asia, I have a wealth of international experience, which has been invaluable in creating brands for audiences around the world. For more than 20 years, I ran HGV, the highly decorated design agency that I founded in London. And in 2009, I moved to Bangkok, where I joined the world’s leading agency for the travel and hospitality sectors, Quo Global, as its Creative Director.

Every day, millions of people interact with visual identities that I’ve created for brands such as paper manufacturers Conqueror, the tramway system in Athens, and hotel brands like Amari, OZO and Jetwing. I have twice been the foreman of the jury for the design industry’s most important awards, D&AD, and I’ve been a jury member for the prestigious Design Week Awards. My work has been published in over 40 books, and it has won more than 30 awards.

But my greatest rewards have been seeing clients fulfil their business goals with the help of effective design. My long career has given me the ability to efficiently unpack a brief and immediately understand a brand’s needs. I then work very closely with clients, ensuring the spirit of a brand is thoroughly communicated through every element of design. The results of this collaborative process are unique visual identities that resonate with viewers and help companies succeed.

Please take the time to peruse this website and check out a few of the identities I have created in recent years. If you have any questions about how I can help your organisation meet its branding goals, get in touch through the Contact page. I look forward to hearing from you.
